Mix honey, barbecue sauce and garlic together; set aside.
Preheat grill. Cover and grill chicken, skin side up, for 15 minutes. Turn chicken; brush with sauce. Cover and grill 20-40 minutes longer, brushing occasionally with sauce, until chicken is done.
Heat remaining sauce to boiling and cook for 1 minute. Serve hot with chicken.
