About Cutsforth’s Market

The girl is wearing a light-colored coat, the man is wearing a short-sleeved shirt, and the older man is in a patterned short-sleeve shirt and glasses.

Founded in 1928 by Frank T. Cutsforth, Cutsforth’s Market began as a humble meat market on NW 1st Street in Canby, Oregon. At just 12 years old, Frank’s son, Glenn Cutsforth, joined his father in the business, learning the values of hard work and community service that continue to define the market today.

The woman is smiling, wearing glasses, a gray skirt, and a necklace. The man is dressed in a suit and glasses. The text below the photo reads: "Celebrating 65 Years Together in Love."

In 1937, Glenn married Elsie Egli, who became an integral part of the family business as a skilled meat cutter. By 1946, groceries were added to the market, and Cutsforth’s Market proudly became Canby’s third grocery store. Their son, Frank Cutsforth, began working in the market in 1957 and carried the family tradition into its next era.

In 1963, the market moved to a new location on the corner of 2nd Street and Holly Street, where it served the community for 12 years before relocating in 1975 to its current home in Downtown Canby. Over the years, Cutsforth’s Market has undergone three major remodels, growing from a small neighborhood shop into a full-service grocery store that now employs more than 125 dedicated team members.
