About Cutsforth’s Market
Founded in 1928 by Frank T. Cutsforth, Cutsforth’s Market began as a humble meat market on NW 1st Street in Canby, Oregon. At just 12 years old, Frank’s son, Glenn Cutsforth, joined his father in the business, learning the values of hard work and community service that continue to define the market today.
In 1937, Glenn married Elsie Egli, who became an integral part of the family business as a skilled meat cutter. By 1946, groceries were added to the market, and Cutsforth’s Market proudly became Canby’s third grocery store. Their son, Frank Cutsforth, began working in the market in 1957 and carried the family tradition into its next era.
In 1963, the market moved to a new location on the corner of 2nd Street and Holly Street, where it served the community for 12 years before relocating in 1975 to its current home in Downtown Canby. Over the years, Cutsforth’s Market has undergone three major remodels, growing from a small neighborhood shop into a full-service grocery store that now employs more than 125 dedicated team members.
For nearly a century, Cutsforth’s Market has remained a cornerstone of Canby — built on family values, quality products, and exceptional service.
In 2023, beloved owner Frank Cutsforth passed away. Today, his legacy lives on through Joel Cutsforth, Kelsey Cordill, and Tanner Cutsforth, who proudly continue the family tradition of serving the Canby community with integrity, care, and hometown pride.
